The Long-Eared Owl
This picture is of the long-eared owl. They are also known as cat owls. This bird is a predator. It has good ears for hunting. It also uses nests that are abandoned by other birds. Despite the name this owl does not have long ears rather it has long feathers. This bird has yellow eyes, have black bills, and have dark colored throats. It is about 35cm long and About 13 inches around. they hunt mice and small birds. Though they feed mostly on voles and small rodents. Their young are called chicks. Their wingspan is about 37 to 40 inches long.
