Mammal 3




This is the short-tailed weasel. Though it is also known as Ermine or stoat. They eat up to 40 percent of their own body weight each day. These weasels are preyed upon by owls and martens. They Eat small mammals such as Mice, rabbits, and squirrels. they also eat insects, berries, and birds. They weigh about 5 to 13 ounces. They Can range up to 7-13 inches long. Their tail can be 5 inches long. in spring their fur is a chocolate brown with a white underbelly with a black tip tail. In the winter their fur is pure snow white. It has short legs and a long body. their young are called kits.
